Standard Hare’s Ear

Description

Here is a simple fly that needs to be in your box! Great as a searching pattern for any trout, and believe it or not these small bugs are killer for winter and early spring Steelhead. My only two Steelhead this last Spring (lete February) came on a size 16 Hare’s Ear!

I am tying these in size 14 and 16 primarily, but ask if you would like different sizes.

Materials:

• Allen standard nymph hook
• Tail: Pheasant Tail
• Body: Light Hare’s Ear Arizona dubbing
• Gold wire ribbing
• Thorax: Dark Hare’s Ear Arizone dubbing
• Wing Case: Pheasant Tail
